Lauren Guido, MS, LMFT, LPC Associate

Supervised by Dr. Chris Stravitsch, DMin, LPC-S, LMFT-S

Lauren Guido is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Licensed Professional Counselor Associate who earned a Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from Capella University. She receives counseling supervision from Dr. Chris Stravitsch, DMin, LPC-S, LMFT-S. Lauren earned a Bachelor of Arts in Catholic Theology from the University of Dallas. In counseling, Lauren can address depression, anxiety, self-esteem, addictions, emotional abuse, relationships, marriage and family life, and more.

Lauren counsels from an integrative approach which utilizes her Catholic Theological education with Marriage and Family Therapy. She believes in a holistic approach to therapy which incorporates both the soul and mind. Her interventions are drawn from both Family Systems and Narrative therapy. Lauren has both her level 1 & 2 Gottman training certification which provides a scientific approach to couples counseling. Lauren is also a certified facilitator for the Prepare/Enrich Pre-Marriage Inventory.

Lauren previously served in youth ministry in both parish and Catholic high school settings. During that time, she discovered her true gifts and passion in ministry always stemmed back to one on one conversations. She knew the Lord was calling her to become a therapist and to specifically focus on marriages and families. She has deepened her ability to look at therapy through a spiritual lens by completing courses towards a certification in Spiritual Direction through the Marian Servants in Clearwater, Florida. She also completed enrichment studies in Theology and Psychology at The School of Holiness in Cavan, Ireland. She aspires to become a professional who integrates the Catholic Faith with marriage and family therapy.

In her free time, Lauren loves to play board games, exercise her creativity through art and home projects, and spend time with her husband and children. She also enjoys participating in her parish community, St. Bartholomew the Apostle Catholic Church in Katy.
