Meet Rachel …

Rachel Raqueno, Practicum Student

Rachel is a graduate student at the University of St. Thomas pursuing a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She is an alumni of the University of Maryland where she completed her Bachelor’s in Hearing and Speech Sciences.

Prior to beginning her graduate studies, Rachel worked in a cochlear implant research lab while volunteering as a music minister for college and high school students. Working with diverse populations, she recognized a deeper need for compassionate, holistic care that attends to the wellbeing and dignity of the human person. As a student therapist, Rachel seeks to create a safe, supportive, and respectful space where clients feel accompanied as they navigate life’s challenges. Her approach is grounded in empathy, attentiveness, and a commitment to honoring each person’s unique story.

Rachel is a Texas transplant who moved to Houston in August 2025. When not working on her graduate studies, Rachel enjoys thrifting, drinking matcha, and baking sourdough. She is a parishioner at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Houston.
