Meet Tami…

Tamara “Tami” Ceaser, Practicum Student

Site Supervisor: Larry Freeney, PhD(cand), LPC

Tamara is a graduate student in the Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy Counseling Program at Houston Baptist University. She earned a second Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology Wellness Management from Houston Baptist University. Tamara has worn multiple hats with the healthcare industry for over 20 years. Most recently, she has worked in Education within the public school system both academically and attending to the social emotional needs of high school students.

Tamara places high value on the family unit and after the untimely death of her cousin due to suicide, she decided that she wanted to provide a safe space for people to “talk about it”. Tamara defines “it” as anything that causes a disruption to an individual’s overall mental health. She plans to take a holistic and diverse approach to counseling couples, families, and individuals using theoretical modalities while aligning them with the teachings of the Catholic faith.
